Silverado Fabricators occupies a traditional light industrial space in Durham, NC. We are an artist/maker owned and operated company and are living-wage certified. We serve a diverse group of clients including medical professionals, educators, entrepreneurs, and creatives. In addition to fabricating custom prosthetic and orthotic devices, we welcome a wide variety of custom projects and art fabrication.
Our 5,500 sq/ft facility is equipped and arranged to facilitate an interdisciplinary approach to design and problem solving. We help our clients connect the dots between different disciplines to facilitate fluidity in conceptualizing and executing their projects. We take great pride in being able to cast bronze on a Monday, fire ceramics on a Tuesday, weld steel on Wednesday, make prosthetic limbs the rest of the week and all the while CNC carving signs and shoe inserts, and 3-D printing respiratory masks and face shields.
Silverado often collaborates with local artists and makers to fabricate technically intensive ideas. Enabling the fruition of the creative process is vital to our philosophy, and that mission is represented in the unique characteristics of our space. Whether using classical techniques or contemporary digitally controlled processes, Silverado's ability to work across a variety of media including wood, metal, ceramics, plastics, resins and leather and our comprehensive tool inventory positions us uniquely in Durham as the ideal shop to accomplish any fabrication need.
